During the hot and dry summer of 2015 some glue-joints between the spar, ribs and some of the planking of the wing came undone.
Subsequently the Minicab has been grounded, but remains on the swiss register.
Regrettably, due to lack of time and talent, I'm unable to execute the repairs myself.
That's why HB-SUI is up for sale and will make a great restauration project.
Included in the "package" is a spare Continental A65 engine (conserved).
What needs to be done:
The wing will need ot be uncovered in the area around the landing gear.
The glue-joints must be checked and, if loose, cleaned and re-glued with epoxy.
The removed planking and the fabric covering (Polyfiber) needs to be replaced and repainted (Polyfiber cement, varnish and paint has been applied througout the structure).
Plans for the aircraft are available!
Different approaches to the restauration can be considered:
- Purchasing of the aircraft as is
- Sponsorship with subsequent benefits
